Update 15/6/26 – I am appealing to the high court

You can read all about it by clicking the ‘read more’ link below.

The very short story is…

  1. I sued the government for unlawfully arresting me three times in one day.
  2. I represented myself in a 12-day trial.
  3. I won that two out of the three arrests were unlawful. All three were unlawful, but I was happy to be vindicated nonetheless.
  4. Due to being offered $15,000 during mediation and only being awarded $4,000 in damages, I got slapped with a $250,000 bill to pay for the government’s legal fees. So basically I had to pay for the pleasure of seeking justice and winning!
  5. I appealed this decision to the Supreme Court. My arguments were very strong, but I lost and am now in over $400,000 debt to the same government that unlawfully arrested me.
  6. Make no mistake about it…I am being punished and used as an example to show others that pursuing justice isn’t worth it. Even if you win, they’ll make sure you suffer somehow.
  7. My high court appeal grounds are also very strong. It’s an important case for any Australian who values liberty and accessibility to justice for all citizens.
